I was lucky enough to get to take my son in law out this last weekend for his first try at getting a white tail buck. He was using a LH 700 BDL in 7 RM shooting 160 gr. Nosler Partition loaded over 62 gr. IMR 4831. We had fun sighting in and he could easily shoot MOA groups. It was very cold here that morning 28degrees with a sub 20 wind chill. We had been watching does and squirrels for a while and most of the action was starting to slow down to the point we were really just talking about how blasted cold it was up in the tree. I saw another doe walk out and showed it to him and said get ready as she looked back over her shoulder. A few moments later a nice buck walked out and he placed a perfect shot . I think the smile on his face tells the rest of the story.
