Hello everybody. New member here from South East Texas but I've lurked through this site for a couple of years now scavenging info on builds and calibers. Earlier this year I sold a couple of "pretty" Remington BDL rifles and scratched the cash together to build myself a "do all" hunting rig.

280ai
Defiance Tenacity
Mcmillan Hunter Stock
Bartlien 2B Barrel @ 24" 1 in 8.75 twist
Triggertech "Special"
Remington bottom metal
Wyatts Extended mag/follower.

I had originally planned to go with a slightly smaller Nightforce SHV scope but my local smith happened to have a very gently used 5-20x56 SHV at the time so I picked it up with a set of Larue QD rings.

Work was done by Crossroads Precision in Victoria. Russell is a great guy and was very helpful with the whole process.
Hopefully being here will encourage me to stretch it out a little.

Great looking build! Looks like some quality components in a strong chambering that should serve you well for a looong time.
and welcome to the addiction forum the DFW area!

Exactly what I was shooting for. With a safe full of sentimental rifles and pretty wood/laminate stocks I wanted a rifle I could pack around in the elements and not be worried about dinging it.

For what it's worth. I've been dabbling in reloading and my other favorite rifle is a regular .280 limited edition and my mother in law shoots a 7mm-08 Winchester super grade.

So that 280ai just made sense in my head as far as streamlining components.

Hello Grant and Welcome to LRH from South Central Texas. I noticed your barrel is threaded , are you shooting suppressed ? I bet this is going to be a sweet shooting setup.

Good Shooting

No I don't currently shoot suppressed. The barrel being threaded was one of those "while it's there may as well do it" decisions. Should my wife/daughter ever want to shoot it I have the ability to brake it for them if need be.

Slick 8 I'm pretty sure I see you on TBH a lot. Glad to see some fellow Texans here.
Yup and not far from you.

I live in Richmond and hunt in hallettsville. I shoot to 600 at American shooting center just weet of Houston but do most of my load work at a small private range just south of El Campo. We only go to 300 but it's rarely crowded and convenient.
