So I got a new 8 lb keg of H4831SC and decided to find the high pressure load for my savage 6.5x284. I started at 51 gr and I went to 53.2 with no pressure signs so I loaded a few to get me to 55 gr...still no pressure signs. I am up to 56.2 grains with still no heavy bolt lift, not even a scuff on the brass, primers still have round edges.
I get a heavy bolt at 59.5 of Retumbo and 215M's and have been shooting 58.5 retumbo with decent accuracy.
I am using 140 Hunting VLD's jumping .100 and Fed 210M primers. This is acting more like H1000 than 4831SC but I am not complaining as 55.3, 55.6 and 55.9 shot to the same POI.
I think I will load 10 at 55.6 and see what happens at 300 yards, hope the primer pockets hold up.
Any one else seeing this in a new lot of H4831SC?
