barrel twist is 1:8", I have another in 1:7.5" and multiple other big 6.5's all running 1-7.5 or 1:8" and I can honestly say there is not a big enough difference I can see, maybe if I build two rifles exactly the same and had both twist barrels I could give you an honest answer but I'd be confident in either or for the 139-156gr 6.5's, I'd lean towards the faster for heavy for cal bullets engaging targets 1000+m but the 1:8 will run with it...

pOtato-pAtato

im sure others will disagree but in my old profession and now hitting steel or hunting the difference between 1/4" or 1/2" moa the subject on the receiving end gets FUBAR

Ok, so I missed my 6lb 1oz forecast/goal.

the Build is finished now, after bedding and adding rings, scope, and all the other components to call it 100% complete (aside from ammo) she came in at 6lb 5.2oz.

putting the scope rings on properly did not make it any lighter.

not disappointed but I guess I'll have to build another and try again... ;)

Did you go with a Remington 700 stock or did you order the priece footprint? I know they have some 700 footprint in stock.

My 270wsm. Pierce titanium action, hitech stock, with pierce rings and March scope. 7.8# loaded. Kevin weaver built it, great job.
