I think the Howa action is leaps and bounds better than the Savage and definitely worth the extra coin. But yes, the Savage is a heck of a deal!!!

The savage action while not perfect is very accurate which is what counts.

I don't know where the vanguards were made b/4 Weatherbys move to Wyoming but I had a chance to tour the new Weatherby factory in Sheridan and Vanguards are now produced in house.

I got to check the new Weatherby factory out also. Very nice. Now I'm confused . I thought the guy said the actions are Howa but Weatherby barrels. I could be way off. My buddy last Sat. at RMEF banquet in Cody won a Weatherby Mk. 5 Weathermark in 30-378. That lucky......
