I am new to the forum but not to shooting or firearms. I am picking up a Remmy 700 LTR soon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif and want a scope to do double duty as a 300-500 yd target gun and mid-long range deer gun. The LTR is short so I want a scope that won't overpower the little guy. Thinking 4.5-14x40 VX-III or the Burris Eurodiamond 3-10 with the 30mm tube and 40mm obj. Another touchy spot with me is the very generous eye relief with the leupold which sometimes is too much as I like to get down high and tight on the gun. Any input is welcome and appreciated.

Check out the new Mk4 PR line of scopes. THey make a 4-14x40mm with the extended turrets and the look of the Mk4 but in a smaller obj and the 30mm tube. I think the scope looks somewhat smaller and would fit good on a smaller type gun.

take it easy
