New guy. Intro and plan for my first rifle.

I kinda want it on there as a fond reminder of what it was and the hours in the arizona desert calling coyotiesand bobcats.

Checking fit of a magpul magnum la magazine. Have a mdt metal mag on order. Will wait to do the final fitting on that.

Spent a few hours with 500 grit wrapped around a popsicle stick/Bic pen/golf tee to expand the mag well of the receiver the bare minimum to lock this mag in. Seems to feed (no barrel installed yet).

Excellent job! Your labor of love will soon pay off. Hang in there; it will be fully operational before you know it.

Cold blue super blue solution on the exposed metal. Polished the feed ramp.

Loosely put everything together to mock up.

Loose mockup. (The pic in the previous pic with the small internal mag box is the original 223 one that came on this gun and shows how much I had to grind and sand off the receiver)

Took it out to range today. 1 shot at 100yds was high right, so I measured with reticle and adjusted dials. 2nd shot hit right in bullseye.

Then shot two more at 100yds and went to 200 yds.

Then steel at 400 yds and 300 yds.
See video below.
