I personally think the 6.5PRC is about perfect for deer! Huge bullet selection and it's got more then enough thump but it's not a huge overkill. A buddy of mine has a Christensen arms in a 6.5PRC and I have fallen in love with it! It will be my next build. I am down here in NE Louisiana with a combination of big open ag fields and then thick heavy hardwood timber and CRP.
It depends. Do you buy factory ammo or handload your own?
