New 6.5mm 144gr Hybrid

I am in the planning stages for a new short 20" 1:7.5: barreled 6.5SS. I was planning on using the 150 SMK, but these 144s might get the nod for at least testing.

My 26" 1:7.5" 6.5SS shoots the 156 EOLs.

I have had tremendous luck with other Berger Hybrids on game, so I see no reason the 144s wouldn't perform as well. The only thing, the new 144s will have a MRT (Meplat Reducing Technology) process performed. Probably like the pointed SMKs and 131 Blackjacks. Just run a #60 wire bit down them and let the animals drop. I know the 150 SMK is DEADLY on deer sized game.

I'm kinda excited about the 131 BJ bullet and the thought of more awesome 257 bullets coming out. I've been a die-hard 257wby man for 30 yrs. To get my 257 up to distance I started shooting 110 bib bullets. A 520bc in a 10 twist. That's pretty dang good in a 257. 3 yrs ago I jumped ship and went to being a 6.5 guy. Really nothing too much to ask for in 6.5 right now. All the weights are there. The bc is there. Kill power is there. Now these new ones are coming as well as others. I think it's absolutely awesome to stay a 6.5 guy right now.
Man A) here is your 257 131 ace
Man2) here is your 8 or 10 choices of 140 class bullet
Put me in group 2 now.
Am I missing something here. I also just can't buy 131 and load them up and shoot away. Still need to rebarrel all my 257s to work. I personally can't wait to try the new 144. And every other bullet that is in that class and above.

257 and 270 no love. Everybody used to love the 257 so why did it not grow up like the 6.5. and the 270. I can see the 270 not growing up. It was hardly born. 3 cartridges built on it wow.

I live at 2200 ft elevation and my 260 AI barrel is at 25" 1-8" so these 144gr Hybrids should get me to, or I should say I hope, 2950 fps. If so they should stay supersonic out to a mile. 1500 ft/lbs energy to just over 600 yards. Maybe a fixed 10X scope will be good for general hunting to medium ranges. Chucks to 1k and steel out to a mile.
