New 300 RUM for the Bulls

Well it's the new toy. First time down the RUM worm hole. I'm going to do test firing with 230's and 245's. Will pick from the two. What do y'all think?

What barrel length is that? I don't think I've ever seen a carbon barrel so long
If you have a healthy supply of the 245's just skip the 230's all together.

How long is your mag box or are you going single shot ?
Very nice looking gun, get some ADG and you are on your way !

The box is 3.850". That's going to be my limiting factor. I have 6 boxes of ADG.

If I go with 245's I'd have to single shot them. But really I've been doing some comparisons on relative velocities for each bullet out of it and there really is not that much difference between the three bullets. I mean is a bull gonna tell the difference of 100' or 100 pounds ke difference. Is the wind deflection of 2" more at 1000 yards gonna make any difference? I don't think so. I may run some 215's in it first and see where I'm at. Just thinking out loud. Will surely sleep on it before I start.

Nice rifle. Is that a tripod adapter above ur btoom metal, what brand? my 300 wwm loves the factory 215 bergers but my Mark V bolt clearanace makes it a single feed aand I cannot eject unfired cartridges without removing the bolt.

Very nice ! I like the idea of 28 in. carbon barrel. Wish I'd of done on mine instead of 28 in. varmit contour Bartlien. Added 3.5 pounds. I think I had a senior moment mine shoots 215's really well.

This one weighed 7.5# bare. I'm gonna weigh it with everything and get back.

Very nice, I am new to the 300 Rum world, have to post some pics once I get it back from the gunsmith, but with that said I have two hunting buddies that have been shooting them for years, and one of them spent a lot of time testing different loads, and for his gun, this is the best load that works for him, and its the one Im starting with for my testing.
Brass = Nosler or Norma 300 ultra mag
Powder: Hodgdon Retumbo 1lbs bottle
Back up powder Reloader 25
210 burger bullets VLD Hunting Bullet
215 large magnum rifle primers federal (only Federal)
