New 30/375 wildcat

wow---- i thought my 7mm-300win was impressive. what would your take one of these 30/375 be in a 700 rem. considering rethinking my 300rum.

I've had 3 300 RUMs and they are pretty potent but barrel burners, brass doesn't last, they kick the snot out of you, etc. My 30/375 S.I. holds 20 grains less powder but doesn't sacrifice enough velocity to put up with all the negatives of the RUM (IMO). I get great brass life, accuracy, and can reach nearly 3100' with the 215 Berger. It would work great in a 700 Rem., and in fact, a conversion from an already chambered 300 WM would be easy........Rich

I have a Sendero with a bunch of work done to it and with 91 grains of H1000 I am only at 2985 FPS. If you are getting 3100 FPS with 70-75 grains and the 215 HYBRID that to me sounds really good. I really like how accurate these 215's are.

I've never quite reached 3100', I think 3080' was the highest with Retumbo. I'll have to check the notes on charge, but I think it was around 82 grains? This is with a 28" barrel. H1000 maxes out around 81 grains with less velocity.......Rich

I don't know who has done one, but I know that PTG lists the reamer.

I can crowd 3000' with the 230's which isn't bad in a .308 diameter. I would really like to get my hands on some RL-33.......Rich

Powder Valley had some not too long ago. If you were closer I'd hook you up with some Rich. I bought 8lbs of it. If you can fit enough of it there is some extra velocity to be had. In my 6.5-300wm it took 75grs of R-33 pretty easy and 70grs of Retumbo is max. I gained about 50-60fps.

You might run out of capacity before you get velocity. It would probably be better in a .300RUM.

I agree. I could use it if I made some 250-260 grainers but then I woulod run out of twist......Rich
