Nevada Elk 074

I got a cow elk tag for 074, early hunt. Any help where to go.

I'm not overly familiar with that area for elk. I would suggest west end of O'Neil basin by the ranches. I'm sure they come in and feed in the fields. Ellen D mountain behind Contact would be another area, and if your area includes Elk Mountain over towards the Jarbidge wilderness, then that is definitely a good area as well. You could always stop in Jackpot and talk to Judge Hester. He's knows the area quite well, but he usually hunts Gollaher mountain east of Jackpot which is 076. Good Luck!!!

Thanks Black Sheep for the info. I am not going to have time to look it over. Wife got a deer tag in 071 it is her first tag. Thanks again

Assuming hers is a rifle tag, it's an area 7 tag, which is 071 thru 079, and 091 also. There's a bunch of great deer areas throughout that area, especially around the Jarbidge wilderness area towards the south. Get you one of the benchmark maps for Nevada that will show roads, etc.

I killed a bull in 114 last year, so I burned up all of my luck!
I've got a non-res UT buck tag for Box Elder county, and I will be putting in
again for cow elk up there too.
