Just picked up a montana x2 in 338 rum. 7lbs 10 Oz. Heavier than the rifles inc strata I had planned. But couldn't pass on the deal. So I need to find a great lightweight scope to put on it to come in at 9 lbs. About a 22 ounce scope. What I'd like. 3 to14 power or similar. Front focal plane if possible. High quality glass. Swarovski or NF quality. Adjustable elevation dials. Reticle with windage marks.
Any ideas appreciated

You could look at the Leupold Vx-6 3-18x scopes. They can either be a 44 or 50mm objective. They have a wide range of reticles that you can get, I think you would look at the TMOA one.

I have a VX-6 scope on a 7mm STW with a fine duplex. It is very nice, clear and not that heavy. The glass is up with NF and Swar. They are only SFP scopes though. As for dials, you can get the CDS or order larger ones from the custom shop.

You can get the mark 4 in ffp,not up on the v6,but been happy with my mark 4 M/M TMR

My mark 4 is a mill/mill.6.5-20x50 TMR,M5.I really like scope just wish it had bit more low end. That is where the 3-18 they have would work fine.I have the March 3-24x52 and it is picky on focus on 20 and up,my leo not so much.I rarely use above 20 so kinda a waste. The leo to my eye is just as clear, maybe not quite as brite.I do like scopes with 10 m rev and like low profile turret on March.

Checked out March. Thanks guys. I like the 3-24 Tactical ffp in moa version. But over two grand.
Ouch....

Thanks for the advice. I decided on a leupold mk 4 4.5 x 14 x50 ffp with tmr reticle. Got one on optics planet for about 1100. Saved about 900 bucks. Hopefully it works.

Shot alot of stuff with that said scope I run a 6.5-20x50 m/m tmr on one of my 338 NMgun)
