Well I think I have decided to build a 375 H&H on the Savage action I have. Now here is what I am debating on if I send the gun back to Savage they will put a 26 inch SS barrel on it for $235 bucks. I dont know if I should have Savage put one on or order a Lilja with a 27 or 28 inch finish. I want to be able to shoot 250 and 260 grain Bullets around 2900 to 3000 fps with accuracy and be able to shoot out to 600 yards with it. Do you guys think I can get that kinda velocity and would this be a good 600 yard gun?

If this helps my mod 70 24" gets 2780 with R-15 and 260 partitions. I'm about a grain from a max summer load. It shoots consistent 3/4 to moa. I'm thinking a 26" would get around 2900.

Thanks Rimfire for the information. What is the farthest you have shot your 375 H&H and how did it do?

I've only been able to get it out to 300 yards, but it seems like it will hold up further. I'll let you know in a week or two I'll be able to get it to a 500 yard range. It is set up more for 300 yards loopy 2.5-8 100 yard zero and bottom post hold works at 300.
