Regardless of prior medical events or not, having a heart attack/stroke/major medical event with a hunting partner out in the boonies merely means the body can be recovered more quickly with less effort, hopefully before the bears lay claim to the remains. Your January stroke probably occurred with loved ones near medical resources in town, and you were probably still fortunate to have survived. We all are merely tourists passing through this life with an unknown number of heartbeats allocated by God......my faith. Would one rather die sitting in front of the flat screen bored out of our heads with a false sense of security, or take that last heartbeat out in God's country doing what we are passionate about.?? Take whatever precautions provide comfort of mind, but don't limit your experiences by fear. If you have a strong faith in God and His promises (if you don't, you're focusing on the wrong priority anyway....again my faith), passing only gets us to His promises faster. A win-win, enjoying allotted heartbeats to the maximum and at last realizing His promises. Enjoy your hunt and heartbeats to the maximum. Wish I were in the area, I'd enjoy being your "comfort net" and enjoying watching you enjoy your heartbeats. [QUOTE="Pro2A, post: 2248788, member: 17889"] A rental satellite phone, emergency locator beacon, filed schedule/routes/hunting locations, and scheduled check-in with your loved ones/locals/authorities would be comforting insurance. A personal GPS with planned way points entered left in vehicle/camp makes locating one easier. Regardless of prior medical events or not, having a heart attack/stroke/major medical event with a hunting partner out in the boonies merely means the body can be recovered more quickly with less effort, hopefully before the bears lay claim to the remains.
