Need a long action for a 300wsm build

I'm going to have a 300wsm built. I would prefer it on a long action. Anyone know where to find a in stock quality rem 700 style action. Would like a Surgeon or Stiller.
Oh and I need it in the next couple weeks.

I see it alot, but just don't seem to understand, LA and WSM? Why not the .300WM? In my mind it will always be 3X what the WSM is. And, to top it off, alot less problem from start to finish.

#1 WSMs can be a bitch to make feed well from a staggered magazine. #2 I've several WSMs that can be finicky to load for, not so with the WM. The Winchest Mag. will have case capacity enough to handle even the heaviest of .30cal. bullets, not so with the WSM. "The WSMs,,, a marketing ploy by a dying company, that died anyway!" The .300 Winchester magnum will always be "more" than the WSMs.

Well I've owned a couple wsm, but my 7mm wsm is by far a better shooter than any 300 win mag I've shot. Working up a load was simple and my rifle likes four different powders and shoots them all identical within 10fps. My rifles cycles I'm a short action with a mag kit perfectly. I have no issues and bullet weight for weight 7mm bc blows a 30cal out of the water. By far I will be building more 6.5 wsm and 7mm wsm and my favorite mag length 7mm-300win shoots amazing.

I have a Model 70 push feed, 7wsm, the action is longer than a typical short action but not too long. It feeds perfect and you can get any stock and jewel action. I'll sell it for $550 shipped if you want it. Boltface is already perfect for a 300 wsm. I was going to convert it myself. I also have a Benchmark, ss 30 cal barrel, fluted 26", perfect for the build. I paid 430, the whole deal 900 shipped. Just buy a stock and jewel trigger and you are good to go. There are several mag systems available for win 70 push feeds. Hill Country Rifles was going to do the build for me and I was going to buy another precision stockworks stocks. Best right handed hunting stock hands dow. They have the parts ready, told me it wouldn't take much time to do. I can call Matt at Hill Country if you need me to. They are top shelf and do a fair amount of Win push feed 70's.

Guys on the 1000 yd benchrest circuit are using 300 wsm today over the 300 win mag. Awesome cartridge.

My SAKO 300 WSM feeds just fine. The rifle doesn't shoot worth crap, but that's the cartridge's fault. Install a centerfeed mag box with a flat follower and good to go.

It's true the 300 WM has about 9% more capacity but for guys like me who do not care for belted mags, the WSM is a nice option. And they have indeed become popular in the BR world. Also, the 300 WSM is very capable of shooting bullets up to the 215 Berger Hybrid. I have shot the 210 Bergers @ 2930 with RL17 out of a 24 3/8ths barrel.

As far as finicky to load for, I do not buy into the thinking that case design equals better accuracy or less finicky to load for. It may be the case for your particular rifles, but there are a lot of accurate shooting WSMs out there in various calibers. IMO, it's the rifle components, smithing and load development that make the difference in accuracy.

It comes down to what fits a a particular persons needs and wants. Sometimes less is better if it meets your needs.

Marketing ploy or not, the WSMs are a good cartridge and fit a niche with a lot of shooters.

I think you're smart for going with a long action, but there are some custom action makers that make actions for WSM's that are a bit shorter than the 700 LA. Best thing to do is figure out how long your seated round will be with preferred bullet and find an action that will at least be long enough for that.

I have a rem 700 short action here and I was thinking about converting it to 300WSM. I don't really need the long Bergers to run through it, I was going to load the 180 TSX, maybe the 190 Bergers at most. Will my remmy short action work? What is the max oal I will be able to load? Anyone know that answer? As a single shot I could put just about any oal in it, right. But I will be using it in the field as a repeater mostly.

You should be able to answer that yourself by measuring the mag box.

You might want to read this thread before settling on the 190 Bergers as a hunting bullet out of the WSM. The 210 or 215 bullets would be better IMO, and I thinkt the 215 is a better bullet all around than the 210.
