Need 270wsm, 140 gr Nos AB load

Coyboy,
Haven't tried the AccuBond. Got pretty good accurcy from my .270WSM and the 140gn Ballistic Tip. I loaded 61.0gn of IMR7828 with the CCI BR2. Didn't chrono it but accuracy ran .394". This is probably one of the best loads I found for this rifle with the 140gn bullet. I have only put one box of 50 through it, so testing has not been extensive. I shot twice that many 130gn and about 50 135gn SMK's through it. JohnnyK.

I have had my best luck with H4831SC. I am using an overmax load, but not getting excessive pressure signs. I would start at about 59-60grns and you will probably end up at about 61.5-62 grains and see how that works for you. This is with the Nos 140AB and a CCI 250 primer and winchester brass.

Thanks guys, I tried some H1000 today as I break in the barrel. Nothing impressive yet. I'll give the H4831 a try next, and I think I have some imr7828 on the shelf.

My most accurate load with the 140 gr Nos Ab is as follows. Norma brass, WLRM primer, IMR-4350 (60.5 grains). I am now loading RL-22 because it gives me close to the same accuracy and more velocity.

Shooting times Feburary 2004 has article called "Handloading the 270WSM. They list a load of 72.5grs of AA MagPro pushing a 140gr Nosler accubond at 3,262 FPS ( 24" Savage BBL). That's with a R-P brass CCI 250 Mag Primer. I've loaded that powder in my 6x284 with most impressive results but not the 270 WSM yet.Powder is hard to find,I bought 3 1LB cans at Sportsmen warehouse in NV .
