ND different this year

We hunt ND twice a year and this year was a lot different. We hunt water for the most part, and don't get many geese. This year we shot 62 ducks and 7 geese in 3 days. Great hunting, but we got a few species we have not had many in the past. Redheads, and Mallards were more plentiful in our area. And we called in 3 flocks of honkers. The new puppy did pretty good and my old dog seemed to think he needed to show he was still the greatest retriever in the house. He retrieved two at a time when he could.

Nothing like hunting over a good dog! I haven' t duck hunted since my old english black lab died...just ain't the same without him.

Thanks, and yes I agree. I like eating duck and goose and definitely love hunting waterfowl, but it is my dogs that really make it great. I love watching dogs work on birds.

I do a lot of goose and duck hunting in ND. Where approximately do you hunt?

I hunt the rugby / cando area

Nice area. I usually stay east of Devils Lake and also south of Jamestown.

Actually both numbers are up this year. It has been a great year so far.
