N560 or N565 for 6.5 prc?

I think You are running 135s & I’m running either 153.5s or 156s
I run a 156 in a 22” at 2915. 2815 in a 18”. My prc’s seem to run 25 fps per inch. Modeling that data I should get 26” to run 3015 and feel pretty confident it will. I have loaded for a 26” that runs my load at 3015 in a savage ultra light with proof.

Here is the Berger 2022 version of the info for the 156 bullet in the 6.5 prc. They have really toned down their data from the 2019 data version. In some instances 4 to 5 grain difference. I am starting to have trust issues with their published data.

Yeah I have issues with it. At least this is closer to real life.

Yeah…i run 60.0 grain of H1000 but running a XM action so that is where I get the extra velocity and case volume and the old table is closer to where I am at (3.2”) but not at 2.955” coal.

As an example, I worked up a load with the 156 using H4831SC and Berger’s data all the way up to their max of 55.6. Got MV of 3015 out of 24” barrel but primer pockets were opening up and resizing was difficult. I called Berger and they stated 55.6 grains was way over max and sent me the new chart of 51.6 grain max. Goes to prove, no matter what they publish, go low and work your way up.

Well the two charts supplied from Berger for the 6.5 PRC and 156 EOL, one from 2019 lists VVN565 max load of 59.7 @MV of 2930 and the 2022 chart lists max load 55.7 of VVN565 @MV of 2887. I loaded a test from 52 to 56 grains in .5 increments and at the 56 gr load got an MV of 2910 out of a 24” barrel using once fired Hornady brass and Fed210M So the 2022 chart supplied by Berger seems more reasonably matched to actual MV. No pressure signs yet, so would you all recommend pushing for a little more MV and hoping for a little more accuracy. 56 gr shot about a .75 at 100 yds.

I ran my test up to 60.2 in my Tikka and didn’t hit pressure. Hornady brass 1x fired. Same powder and primers as you. My final load ended up at 59.2 grains of 565 with a muz velocity of 2954. I shot it at less than half moa at 100 and about .75 moa at 850 last week.
