This is my first ever home built rig. Nothing to major started out with my savage 300 wsm and wasn't shooting very good groups the way it was so I bought a benchmark barrel and all the tools to do the job myself. I then called out to stockade and had him make me the stock. Got it all assembled and went and did some load development at the range a few times. So far it seems to like 210 gr Bergers over 61gr of RL-19 going just shy of 2800 fps getting .648 in groups at 100yds,around 1.5 in at 200yds, and stays In that 3/4 MOA past that although i havent been able to test beyond 500 yet. I'd really like to get that down a little tighter but with limited time before season I will make do to that 500yds I have practiced to. It is a little heavy at 13.2 lbs but not gonna be a mountain gun mostly a deer and antelope gun to 800 or so yds someday when I can get the load tuned for it.

Good lookin rig! I like that stock.

Can you give me some more info on the buttstock shellholder/pouch thing...I'd like to get a couple of them in ACU Digital. But don't know who makes them of the technical name, so I can't ever find any for sale.

Nice looking rig for sure! It has to be that much cooler since you did it yourself.

Do you mind saying what you have put into it moneywise now?

Well if ya include the tools to so the job right I could have had a smith do it for less but the idea was to be able to build my own from here on out.

Barrel vise, action wrench, barrel nut wrench, head space gauges, misc...$300+/-

Stock, bedding kit, camo paint....$375+/-

Barrel from benchmark #7 contour fluted barrel threaded...$600 +/-

The action was from my old savage rifle and so was the 20MOA base and the vortex viper scope.

But now I have all of the tools to do another and I am already dreaming up the next two or three projects

Sweet i just ordered the coyote stalker for my 260 ai im going to build, how lobg did it take to get it
