very nice! What material did you use? I made myself a 30mm bar a few years ago, from a piece of 304ss I had laying around
It's aluminum. I won't be using lapping compound. The diameter is 0.016" undersized to accommodate the thickness of 600 wet/dry paper. The knob is ebony, I'm sure that's the key to accurate scope alignment 😃
 
Why do you feel you need to lap these particular rings?
I'll be putting Talley lightweight scope mounts on a defiance anTi action. I expect the rings and action to be aligned pretty precisely but I want to be sure. Here's a previous lapping job I did for 30mm Talley mounts on an x-bolt.
