So I got this custom built 300WSM by H&H precision out of Washington state in trade for my driftboat but don't know much about bolt guns and nothing about loading so I'm thinking rather than shooting factory loads out of it I maybe should just sell it to someone who knows these guns better.
Proper break in is important I know so just don't think I should mess with it.
It was built for Montana elk and goat hunting specifically and well we dont have goats here in Oregon. It's a beautiful well built gun though.
300WSM, Defiance deviant hunter action, Manners EH4 stock, timney calvin elite trigger, apa muzzle break, proof research carbon fiber barrel 20", surgeon bottom metal with accuracy international drop out mags. Previous owner had it built by Ken Hagen (H&H precision), was developing a load with his friends at Hornady and gave me the info he had but it's kinda worthless to me since I dont load my own. Keep it or sell it? And what would be a good asking price for this build?

Here are some pics of it.

Nice rig. I'd say you can get ammo for it pretty easy. Call copper creek they will send you a load test pack to shoot over a chrono then a seat depth test pack. After that you can buy rounds any time from them.

Even easier have them or superior ammo out of SC do a load ladder for you using hammer Bullets. You would more than likely not need to do a seating depth test. Hammers don't seem to mind the seating depth. I just did that in a .358 Norma mag and had a great load in the first test pack.

That's a nice rifle. In your position I guess probably makes sense to sell it since you don't seem to care about a full tilt rig as much as many on here. I would call the smith and talk to him maybe they have a customer that would want that exact setup.

Sounds like previous owner had already shot it... but you talk about not wanting to shoot it because break in is important? Can you explain that.

You could send it to Choice ammunition for 295 and they will find a load for you. And after all said and done they will have your load on file so when you order more they will send your exact load in a box to your house. Good looking rifle.
