My budget .257 WBTY build ...

Are those the same cartridges, the shoulders look a lot diff, or optical
Yes, they are the same cartridges. The one on the left is factory ammo, and the right is unsized/unprepped; I just slaved the Cayuga bullet for a picture teaser, just as the barrel is not yet head spaced or any of the screws or nut torqued.

Last weekend I managed to mount the scope and I managed to mount the scope and started the barrel break-in process. I was not looking for any accuracy from the factory ammo but they are within .75 MOA at 100Y despite cleaning the barrel for every shot. I have 10 more shots before I call it good to start load development. Unfortunately, it has to be after the hunting season. 😒

I love it Brother

I would not wait for the 133 Berger hunter, the 135gr were excellent for me this year on 3 antelope and one big muley buck. They may be a little too fast/splashy in the WBY but I have confidence in them on game in my gun so far.

Savage LA, McGowen SS (cerakoted) 1:7" 22" 5R Remington standard contour, MBM 4-port beast, Oryx chassis. I just screwed it together (not head-spaced) for a teaser picture.

This is my first .25 caliber. I considered the .25-06 AI and the .25 Gibbs before deciding on the .257 WBTY. I am not a fan of proprietary cartridges but I figure I give it a try. 🤣 It is primarily built for the 133 Berger but I will be trying the 117 Cayuga until the Berger is available.
