My boy at 1100 yds on steel! Just bragging

Just wait until he smacks his 1st deer!

He shot this doe at 550 this last year!

Good job! Care to share some specs on the rifle and load? I'm in the process of putting a 6 Dasher together and can't decide what bullet to shoot for deer out to around 500 yds.

I like the 105 Hybrid in my 6CM @ 3107 for deer and antelope. I can get them up to 3200, but the 3107 load shoots them so well, I hate to lose .2MOA for 100fps.
I have a buddy whom uses them in his 6XC @ 2920 for mule deer too. They took 4 good ones last year from 100 to 480 yards.

Forgot, I should add that I have a fantastic load for the 101 Hammer Hunter in my 6CM too. 3180fps into the .2s. And POI is within .25" of my 105 Hybrid @ 200 yards. So no adjustment of zero needed. Just note it in my BC calculator .

I've shot deer with Berger Hybrids for years. Buck at 592 a few years ago from a dasher at 2930fps. This one my shot was out of a 6cm at 3050. Shot a cow elk at 460 with a 140 hybrid also this years and drt.

The rifle in the video is a 6 dasher with 105 hybrids at 2950fps with a 26" barrel. Federal 205, lapua brass, 32.6g of varget. Works like a charm.

I don't push anything too hard velocity wise. I like a consistent load and shoot!

Thanks KPK. That little Dasher is impressive. I have a few pounds of Varget on hand ready to go. Was hoping I'd get 2800 fps plus out of my 22" barrel.

I bet you'll be above that most likely! My next is a 22 dasher at 21". Hoping for 3050 with an 88g eld.

One last question. Don't mean to derail the thread. Your sons accomplishments need to be recognized. Is the hybrid as good on game as the hunting version in the 105 gr? I shoot lots of 215's and 140's. So I imagine they work great.
