My question is, what Muzzle velocity would be needed to keep this projectile comfortably supersonic at 1760 yards?

Depending on what temp and what elevation you plan to shoot it in.

Sea level and 30 degrees you would want around 3400 fps @ muzzle. Not going to happen with the 300 wsm.. Sea level and 70 degrees you would want about 3250 again not going to happen with the 300wsm.

If the ND in you title stands for North Dakota then you are about 1900 above sea level. So at 30 degrees you will want about 3200 fps. Again IMHO thats not going to happen.
Now @ 70 degrees you will want about 3050. That should be able to be done with the 300wsm.

Every speed that was given should put you around 1130 to 1140 @ 1760 yards for there given temp and elevation. Those speeds might not be comfortable though.

Glad to help! Since you are in ND you should give the 215 Berger a try. All you need @ 30 degrees and 1900 foot is 3000 fps to be around 1130 then go up to 70 degrees and all you need is about 2875 fps.

The 215 hybrid is a great bullet!

^^^^^this! I found that they are kinda picky for me but they absolutely hammer elk! I have also been able to push the speed with my 300 win mag to 2975 vs 210 berger at 2800

I have had the rifle for around 10 years now and it is still new in the box and unfired.
I have decided to put a scope on it and use it.
I was entertaining the idea of moving it and getting the Ruger Precision in 6.5 creedmoor, but nobody would give a favorable value for the Winchester.
