Looking to put a brake on my 300wsm. Considering one from muzzlebreaksandmore, they seem to have lots of good reviews and cheaper than most. The other is the victory turbine from heritage arm's. Any opinions on which one? The rifle is a Montana rifle co X2. I'm out of town so can't measure but called Montanarifleco and they said the outside diameter is .6 at muzzle and #2 contour barrel. What would the best thread pitch ? Thanks

You are gonna get a lot of answers and opinions, one of them will be that you cant thread that barrel safely-- some say that .308 needs 5/8x24 threads to have a safe wall thickness, your barrel is only .6" so that thread pitch is out. -- you could probably do a 9/16" or definitely a 1/2" thread if you decide to thread it anyway.

As far as a brake, I love the 4 port brakes from mbm-- he will taper them down to your barrel profile if you like also. No better service than mbm.

For factory rifles or barrels that are threaded, I go with muzzlebrakesandmore.
I use Witt Machine clamp on brakes on factory sporter barrels that aren’t threaded. Both work extremely well.

  4. I have a self timing APA fat bastard. It’s better than I’ve ever had before this.

Maybe 1/2-28 thread and get an APA microbastard or little bastard brake? They sell a 1/2-28 30 cal micro which might fit your contour better.

As mentioned 419 brakes are about the most efficient brake I have found and u have plenty of options later on with silencer adapters etc!

Went with the 4 port lil beast from MBM. Can't wait to try this out..I'm pretty sure my petite wife will be able to shoot the 300wsm with it.

She should be fine. My petite daughter has shot my .300RUM with a Badger Thruster on it since she was 11.
