I tell you what if I would have had a few of them at the range to day I would have sold out!! I finally got all my tooling and jigs built so I chucked up my 270 WSM barrel that is kinda my gunsmithing trainer and installed my first brake, it is a 4 port Muscle Brake from Jim See. Jim really gave me some good advice for the install and really helped to make it successful. The four port was way over kill but I have plans
Recoil was somewhere near a 22-250, barely moving the rifle and the cross hairs just moved a little but never came near to coming of target and I hold it real light while shooting of a bipod with a bag.
Blast at the shooter from the brake was ZERO, I could not tell I had a brake installed! Another shooter was very impressed with the noise level and how the brake worked, my dad was ruined after one shot!!
I've shot a few different brakes on rifles but never on a rifle that I had shot this much without one and then installing one, I can never go back :D:D
I have two more to install then I will have to order some more for my dad, I think everything in the gun safe will be getting a Muscle Brake, big thanks to Jim See for a great product and taking a little extra time with a newbie on the phone!!

OK before I get struck by lighting I threw a new paint job I wanted to try on and took some pics! I could have tapered the back more but I don't think it's to bad for my first one!

I 2nd the motion bigngreen they are IMO the best shooter friendly brake out there. I've got one on a 300 ultra now and I'm having a 7 stw built that is having one on it as well.

I knew someone would want pics!! I didn't take a pic cause the barrel looks like it got drug down a rock slide and it did, the brake is nice though. I'll clean up the barrel and get some pics. :D
I'm stoked though, all the lathe work and threading went super good, the brake threads on like butter but does not spin down and you can't feel any slop in the threads, just smooth going. It's amazing when you set up the lathe by the book things turn out right! Next up, chambering a 270 WSM , 338 RUM and both with a Muscle brake!!!!

Pic's up!! Let me know what you think, remember this is my ugly stick so I'm trying out all kinds of things on it!! I noticed when I went to clean it for paint that the muzzle blast pattern was perfectly even through out the brake, which seems like a good indicator I have things working correctly. I also have the crown just inside the first baffle, I though it would be easier to inspect the crown and clean but being the first one I've had I'm not sure if that is the best way or not.

bigngreen, I kinda like the spattered up paint job looks cool.

With that sized barrel setting the compound to about 27-30 degrees will run the taper to within .100" of the first port opening.

I'm glad you guys like the brakes.

Jeff, it's .825. It really is to large for this chambering but I had to put tool to steel and get the show on the road so I started with this so I can swap it onto a larger chambering. I was kinda thinking it would look cool on a stainless to go from the flat black at the action then fading out into a lighter and lighter splatter to the brake.

Thanks Jim, I honestly just eyeballed it. The next one will be a three port that is turned to the barrel but I have another 4 port for a RUM that I'll taper better. Thanks for putting out a great brake!!

I install a bunch of Muscle Brakes on each year. The best timed brake I've ever use!!! The quality of the brake from Jim is top notch. It's not covered in burrs and rough as a corn cobb. The only slight machine marks you see is very slight in the ports. The O.D. is flawless. It makes my job that much easier and faster to have a top quality part from the start and damn they work excellent too!! Keep making more Jim, I recommend the muscle brake every time. gun)
