I think I am getting a good handle on this. I would like to hear what all of you are using for dies. Also, what reamer specs did you go with?

I appreciate all the imput and information all you gents have posted.

I have several sets of dies. The first set I got was from Pacific Tool & Die back in 1979. I've bought probably 10 sets from RCBS over the years for rifles I built. I am using a custom Lee collet die for neck sizing now and a Redding competition seating die. Redding announced they were going to start carrying the .260 AI as a regular stock item (I think category II) at the SHOT show this year. Probably won't see them for a month or two. You'll need a full length .260 AI size die and a regular .260 Remington full length size die if you want to size .308 brass down to .260 AI.

I use the redding S type bushing dies with a SAAMI spec chamber. Seems to be working out OK so far. Here are some of my initial loads and corresponding target from last weekend.

Trued Rem 700 in .260 AI with 29" 1:8 twist Gailard barrel
Lapua .243 brass once fired not touched other than uniformed primer pockets
CCI BR2 primers
COL is 2.875"
#s 1-4 are H4831sc (47.5-49gr) with 130gr Berger hunting VLD
#s 4-8 are H4831sc (47-48.5gr) with 140gr Berger hunting VLD
Weather was -13 deg C mainly calm @ 3400ft ASL.
Dist. 100m.

I know this post is REALLY old...but ivo, if your still around, are you getting any pressure signs with your upper loads you showed on that target? What do you think of those loads? 3100 w/a 140 in a 260 AI seems like way more than what most people are getting...I'm having a Krieger barrel made, medium palma contour 4 groove 1in8 twist, and can have it as long as 30" that I'm going to build into a 260 AI on a Remington action, I was figuring on 2,950 fps w/140, if I could get over 3,000 I would be WAY happy, I don't wanna know what I would do if I got 3,100 without pressure signs and decent brass life ha ha...

Also, I'm planning on using H4831sc as well...thanks in advance for any reply.
