Montana x-bows illegal

This has nothing to do with discrimination.

This is the stupid crap I'm talking about. Self entitled brats running around trying to get free handouts using any loophole in a system they can find. I know veterans with far worse disabilities than the OP that don't take handouts from anyone. They adapt and overcome. One is in a wheel chair missing both his legs and very hard at hearing from the bomb that took his legs. Never hear him complaining about the way things are here.
This nation is turning into a bunch of weak whiners and complainers that scream and cry when they don't get their way because life just isn't fair. Well suck it up buttercup. Somewhere in the world there are always people that have been dealt a hell of a lot worse hand than you.

People should be required to go live in armpits of the Middle East and other degraded 3rd world countries for at least 6 months when they turn 18 so when they come back to America they can actually realize and appreciate how good their life is in the states.

Whoa guy...............I simply answered the OP's question, and you come out swinging. Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have really bad shoulders to the point where I cannot draw a bow back, or even cock a crossbow with the cocking device that comes with it. So.....my "adapt and overcome" is that I don't archery hunt. I cannot walk very well due to a serious back injury, so......my "adapt and overcome" is to black bear hunt over bait!! And...yes there are those, even on this forum, that will ridicule someone for "sitting on a barrel of donuts" to shoot a bear. This is how I adapt and overcome. What I find is that people, even good conscientious people, take walking for granted. We take our feet for granted, until we either don't have them, or they do not work as they are supposed to. So....some of "us" understand hardships even though they are life's hardships and not military hardships; but, nonetheless they are still one's own hardships. One does not have to go into the military to face many of life's challenges, real life also creates many hardships as well. I suffer from complex-PTSD, and it isn't from being in the service; I am Viet Nam era and was not eligible for the draft.

Man chill out. From what you have written and the way it is written one could say that you are whining about people whining. We all have our crosses to bear, cross bow hunting seems to be the OP's cross; and.....it's not in the form of a bow.

The OP accused an association of discrimination without any basis, and asked lawyers to get involved for profit. That in itself with get people fired up, it did me and I'm technically handicapped. If the OP would have initially posted to converse about opinions regarding Montana's crossbow laws, he may have received an ear full but not nearly as much had discrimination and lawyers been left out.

it appears many of you younger bowhunters don`t understand what may happen to you when you do get old and have a handi-cap ,someday some of you may get hurt and handi-capped, it may get so bad that being able to walk " like has been mentioned" down a sidewalk when your crippled feels good . don`t forget we all live in America ,we all are hunters with hunting tools and Montana is a state in America not a different country , some of us have worked hard and got hurt but we paid our share of taxes in our live time . i am 68 years of age now have hunted Montana many years and know how to kill elk its just my body is now handi -capped for bow hunting in the nicest time of year " when the elk bugle ". maybe some day you will understand ,i bet Trump would ? that`s why i voted for President Trump !

I'm 60 years old just had my 3rd shoulder surgery and probably will never be able to pull a bow back, but what I can assure you i will never put in for a NR tag and Bitch and complain about them not allowing crossbows to hunt and then threaten to sue because its not the way I WANT IT!!

O.P sorry for your disability but deal with it and do the best you can.
Reminds me of the neighborhood kid who comes over to another kids house to play and doesn't like the sand and toys and screams and stomps his feet because he doesn't like it.
You've admitted you can walk around the woods you like to hear the elk bugle a crossbows not stopping that, get out there and enjoy the elk bugling. In my opinion if your just out there for the kill your there for the wrong reason

I'm 42 with my nervous system shutting down the use of my hands and feet and has for last 7 years. Has cost me to eat a 16A Gila bull tag and Arizona bull tag because of my problems and I only blame myself. But I still suck in a breath of fresh air and try again. Same as a lot of guys here. I wish mine could have waited another 20 years.

I understand that things can happen and I may end up in the same scenario, but what I won't do is apply to hunt a place knowing that its not legal to use a method of take that is not allowed during the time I want to hunt(assuming you did your homework before the application was submitted). There are approaches that you can use to address your handicap that will allow you to hunt during the rut with a bow. I guess making new rules because someone is upset is not the correct way to go about it. The rules are set, thats what Montana has decided to enforce. If I were in your shoes, I would rise up to the challenge presented to you and find a way to hunt elk instead of trying to find a way to move the goal posts to meet YOUR personal desires. I hope you succeed.

Like I mentioned earlier, you can use a crossbow to hunt in Montana currently for around 300 days already. It just doesn't happen to fall in the time frame of the elk rut.

Wrong. Actually one of the best things about Trump was that he fully respected the right of the states to govern themselves as this nation was designed when it was founded.

If you want a communist socialism where the federal government can step in and change rules and laws within a state any way they see fit then you should have voted for Hillary and Biden

Thank you will do! I had 7 West two years ago when the 100 year snow storm came in. Got 3 feet of snow and couldn't go anywhere! People stranded everywhere but we just made it out. Hunted a big bull for 2 hours opening morning and that was it! Only my luck lol
