I looking at getting some wool baselayers for an upcoming elk hunt, has anyone had any experience with minus33 products. I like the 3/4 zip expedition weight easy on and off for glassing/still hunting. Also like the 1/4 zip midweight with thumb holes for easy layering and venting.

Any experience would be appreciated

Also do you find needing these layers in camo or will a solid color be fine, I would think the only piece showing would maby the mideweight top during active times?

Thanks for the help

Literally just ordered the similar/perhaps same thing but it's the Meriwool mens base layer 100% Merino and 400g weight.
They note a 90 hassle free return policy, reviews seem to be decent, thought I'd give it a try.
Also got it in Army green, as this should be something I have on the outside, I like to layer up so that I'm comfortable in the temperature outside without my final jacket on, this way if temps drop I should be perfectly fine with the final layer, the jacket, on.

Had the Minus33 in my cart but this seemed to be the same exact thing for much less, mine was $75 on Amazon, the Minus33 was $140, both note 18.5 micron 400g/m2 Merino wool.

Also have this thing in the cart, seems interesting, Helly-Hansen Mens LIFA Merino Heavyweight 1/2 Zip Base Layer Shirt.
Merino is the outer layer of it, has a synthetic inner layer supposed to really pull moisture away.

Not that any of this helps you, as I don't have the thing yet, but the goal for that Meriwool one I ordered is to be my final layer before my jacket for waterfowl hunting, so it'll be my outer layer until and unless it gets cold enough to need my jacket, even then I usually take the jacket off once shooting hours start, meaning my outer base layers tends to really get tested.

And I'm in Northern MN hunting water, it gets cold, things get wet, I still usually find that I am fine, but I do feel I put my layers through a decent test.

Good luck. Finding I'm looking to replace about all my base layer stuff so I'm just playing around with some of this to see what's what, old stuff is getting a little beat up.

I bought the -33 top and bottoms for a cat hunt in the Bighorns four years ago. Lots of snow and very cold that year in February. They performed great. Lots of physical activity with them on and I had no issues with them not breathing. When tracking cat I had only the -33’s on plus a pair of hunting pants. Just the merino top though. Good stuff.

I got that Meriwool top of which I was speaking, stitches are nice, it is a good thick material, comfortable, the zipper top does not bother the neck, seems to have been done well.

It is made in China, Australian company, but made in China, I suppose that was expected, the minus 33 is made in China as well.

Duck hunting starts this next weekend and she'll get tested, but initial impressions are good from me, stiching and construction looks good and a zipper that doesn't bother the neck is a big plus, showed they cared at least enough to get that done right, I've found that's an easy place for some companies to forget, then other things follow...

My top is a quarter zip if I didn't note that prior, that's why it has a zipper.

As far as this Meriwool vs that Minus33, stats seem same, both made in China, but mine was $75, the minus33 is $120-$140.

Glad I went with the Meriwool version for now, guess I'll see if that changes, wearing it a lot as an outer layer, especially on the water, mud, brush, branches, rubbing etc... it'll get beat up so I should have a decent idea of how it works after this season.
