Military Losing the Sniper War Against Russia?

Russians were the ones who did the sniper schools and training and refined the art, who we then learned the proper tactics from. Do a little more research then just what wikipedia throws out. I know you all hate the Russians, but give credit where its due, doesnt mean you have to like them...I am 50% Russian, grandparents have a diary in prussian where they were always one step ahead of Stalin, on top of many more books on their history. So I just happen to know a little about the history of Russia... Dont forget where you came from because I can 100% guarantee you ain't 100% "American" lmao...Happy now?
Not being critical , just wanted to know what you know about the subject.
My Dutch ancestors have been on this continent since 1590

Interesting. I'm not even 0% Russian, but members of my family are. One whole group of them stayed one step ahead of Stalin also. They were unlucky enough to have a German sounding last name, originating in the days of Catherine the Great. So they went from Leningrad to Kavkas, where one was murdered by Chechens, and then on to Kazakhstan, which was the center of political refugees and various other individuals looking to hide during the purges. At some point they changed the name to something more Slavic as well. All told, one was shot in Lenin's time for being a Kulak, one disappeared in the gulags for being caught with a Bible. Several disappeared in the opening days of Barbarossa, One filthy opportunist worked with the NKVD, and more than one became fanatic atheist communists who decried the rest of the family who were baptists.

The funny thing is that traditional slavophile Russians are very anti-communist, strong Christians who have more in common with American conservatives than perhaps any other group on the planet. Yet our conservatives here are so brainwashed by the leftist media that they hate Russians and don't have a good word to say about any of them. Too bad nobody thinks for themselves anymore. The leftist media puts Putin and Trump in the same basket because both are patriotic leaders who don't want their countries subverted by globalists. New Russia is not the Soviet Union. Russia kicked out the communists. America invited them in. Patriotic, nationalistic new Russia ended up being attacked by the new world order because they won't surrender their borders and identity. They have been under seige from Soros and his affiliates since scum bag Yeltsin left. Meanwhile, the US has jumped into every UN -NWO conflict that we could get our hands on, at the direction of Soros and his puppets like NWO neocons Bush and McCain, and we conservatives have eaten it up, served, sacrificed, and waved the flag...... while the same people who yank our patriotic chain to manipulate us, also fund Antifa, BLM, and the flag burners who want to see international Marxism and the destruction of America. Maybe one day Conservative Americans will throw out all these globalist bolsheviks. Until then, were are headed full speed toward international socialism, while stupidly cursing the people who once experienced it and are warning us against taking that path.

russia also said that no cosmonauts died during the space race and they never lost any nukes.

russia can't afford a war with anyone and we outnumber them over 2 to 1.

"Russia" back then wasn't in charge. They were just one state in the Soviet Union, which through much of it's history was run and operated by non-Russians. And to be fair, the Soviet Union itself murdered more Russians than the Mongols and Hitler combined.

And yes, today's Russia cannot afford a war with us, they do not have the funds or material, or population for it. In fact, despite the BS that the media tries to convince us of, they are no more of a threat to us than Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. probably less.

The ultimate sniping was done by the Teams that went into N Afghanistan and put precision 1000lb and 2000lb weapons on the Taliban. "Be there first and have the most" and raining down big booms that don't miss kinda qualifies. Snipping is a force multiplier and the overwatch aspects of giving your grunts the edge is valuable in moral and effectiveness. But nowadays its coms, surveillance and using those two to rain down precision booms, do that and the enemy's infantry is bereft of supporting fires, logistics and C3.

Reading a few of the posts ,I was wondering if when a few Russian sniper teams are deployed to harass an objective at different distances on more or less the same pathway( say 1 team at 600 yards , one at 1200 and the third one at 2000) , the two first teams could read the wind at their respective positions and communicate the values to the third team at 2000. Although with modern detecting devices , like thermal imaging, it would be pretty hard for the two first teams to hide very well unless buried underground. The objective would have to be of a limited number of personal and protection I guess , unless they had a big army begin to support the sniper teams. Just a scenario imagination, I am no expert on the subject.

On another point, one advantage that Russia has over the USA , is that they are out of debt, as USA is one of the most indebted country in the world . The French king Louis14th once asked his war minister what was required to win a war . The answer was: money, money and a lot of money.
And if you run out of money, you are not going to make any war.
And although USA has the firepower to erase pretty much any small to medium size country from the map with conventional weapons, it has not had many decisive victory on the ground and held that ground since the Second World War , and I believe never had to confront face to face another nuclear power.
And for a good reason, its major cities are coastal and could easily be hit by a few nuclear subs , which would wipe out a good portion of the population and make living their impossible . That cost would be unbearable.

Well to be fair, didn't Russia kinda invent the whole "sniping" concept from the start? And didn't the US learn most of what they know from the Russians and or Germans on the subject to begin with? Anyway, good for the Russians!
COL Morgan in the American Revolution appears to had fielded the first sniper unit so unless you can cite a Russian unit earlier than this I kinda think the Yanks invented sniping concept.

it really doesn't matter who was the first because the American units were the best known to us, and almost certainly the most effective, but various European principalities had Jaeger units dating back to the early 1600's. The German states, the Austrian Empire, and yes, even the Russians. They were typically recruited from hunters, and were originally intended to be used as sharpshooters to carry out recon and skirmishing.

In predictable European fashion, their respective militaries usually misused them by square-pegging them into a round hole of traditional line units.

Even so, some of the German states attempted to standardize the various pattern Jaeger rifles into formal regulation military rifles (so they could be used in texbook European battle formations) around the time of the 7 years war (our French and Indian war). But at that time, the "standardization" and replacement of a privately owned weapon of known quality and accuracy to it's owner was not a positive thing. So we in America almost certainly had the best "sniper rifles" of the era, and arguably the best qualified "snipers".
