That does it for me. Won't be shooting the 7mm 175 LR Accubond on any hunts this fall.

Midway listed the 175, 168 and 150 Long Range Accubonds to be available Aug 1. I didn't hear from them so I looked today (Aug 1) and they list a NEW (tentative) delivery date:

"Date expected in stock: 09/08/2013"

Never fails....a new component shows up too late for hunting season. Grumble grumble.....

****ed!

this is now the 3rd time they have pushed them back.

was suppose to be in may.

I have a Colorado elk hunt in October and thought these would be perfect but not looking good.

I emailed Midwayusa today to see what the deal is.

I hope there're not just waiting just before hunting season.

i'll post what they reply back.

Got the email back from midwayusa and they said there backordered. now when I look at it, it says coming soon. I don't know how they can say backordered

I emailed nosler as well hoping to find out something.

Gentlemen:
So, what's the consensus on these? You guys think, heard, know if they will blow up at higher velocities up close? Are they only designed for longer range hunting? What's the story? What's the BC and optimum velocity spread? Got a price yet?
I love the 7mm's in 140 & 160. Wifey used 140's in a 7-08 this year in RSA for Kudu, Gemsbok, and Zebra. All complete pass thrus at 110-175 yds. Looking forward to a heavier, higher BC Accubond for my 7-300. Thanks in advance for your opinions/thoughts. Take care.

So nosler finally got back to me and this is what the email said.

The 30cal 210gr., 270cal 150gr., 7mm 168gr. and 150gr. have all been released and shipped to distributors with the others to fallow shortly.

Midway now's shows mid October for release. Last week was September.

Min velocity is 1300fps. Doesn't matter what range. Midway shows them at $53/100 which Is good.

B.c for 150 7mm is .611 considering the same size in a ballistic tip is well below .600.

Hey guys i was fortunate enough i got my hands on three boxes of 7mm LR accubonds 168gr. My 7 has been kind of fusy with the long bullets im going to use one box to see if my gun likes them. If it dont i wont waste lead or powder or barrel i will sell the other two boxes. I should know in the next two weeks if i am going to stick with them. If i decide to sell them i will post it on this thread.

Len pulled my comment about Midway but in a nutshell, I'm done with them. They changed their policy (in mid stream) on backorders after I waited 3 months for a die set. Part came in, the Neck Sizer and 2 bushings. They wanted to send the NS and the bushings and bill me and then ship the rest when it came in instead of waiting for everything. My comment to them was.... "What the hell do I do with a NS bushing die and 2 bushings with no seater and no FL die?

Their reply was..." Our policy is now to ship partial orders because there isn't room in our warehouse to compile back orders. I cancelled everything and reordered with another supplier, a supplier that has the common sense to complie an order and ship it complete. Thats BS and I'm done with Midway and the dork with the glasses. They can KMA.

I didn't know a box of dies took up a lot of room?????

Now it was rotten of them to change the policy on you in the middle of things for sure but some part of you has to understand just a little bit as to why. Can you imagine a few hundred thousand half filled orders sitting in the warehouse. Just keeping track of that no matter how small an order would be a nightmare. A smaller shop of course can handle those kinds of things. They don't do the volume the big guys do. At this point they might have more unfilled orders taking up space than actual product to sell. Sad times for sure. They should have at least notified you of the policy change and let you choose what to do before it came time to try and push a partial on you. Hope you have better luck with the new vendor.

Interestingly, the new vendor is just as big. Optics Planet. Must have more warehouse soace ot maybe more customer oriented or both.

As long as they don't want to charge more than one shipping fee, that would be ok. But if not it makes no sense to send something the he is unable to use, and charge multiple shipping fees.

That was the plan. I didn't let it get that far. I cancelled. I was just miffed after waiting 3 months. IMO, it would have been more politically correct to install the policy change on orders made AFTER the notification, not retroactive on all orders.

As it is, I'm done.
