Anyone wiser than I care to comment on how well this would fit a proof Sendero? Specs are similar and the proof is smaller so it definitely would fit, but would there be too much gap?

Apologies, this is for a Bartlein rem varmint/sendero NOT a Bartlein heavy varmint contour. Corrected in op.

I don't believe the proof sendero will fit without opening the barrel channel.
