Mag quit holing rounds in

Rem 700 BDL in 300 WM w/ floor plate. All of a sudden quit holding rounds in the mag. The first just pops back out of the mag. If I hold the one and get the second in it'll stay but the 3rd will not. Tried several pieces of different brass also. Is this a trip to the smith or could it be something simple? Gun is only 3-4 yrs old and kept clean.

Take the mag box out and ues a pliers to tweak the feed lips inward very slightly.

I believe OP said BDL. Take the spring and follower out and check them for wear pattern and try tweaking the spring to put more/less tension on follower. Be sure the follower & spring are installed correctly.

and make sure the mag box is in the receiver properly. some of mine are so tight i tap the box into place with a rubber hammer.

Don't know what was wrong but seems fine now. Just took it apart and put it back together.
