M70 Bolt

A friend called me for my opinion.
He can buy a very nice M70 Hvy Barrel (I'm guessing a XTR since it looks similar to a M700 BDL) in 22-250 for $70.00. The problem is that the rifle is missing the bolt.
Is there a M70 bolt, OE or aftermarket available? Any idea on what a bolt would cost and what headspacing would cost? Just trying to help my buddy figure out if this is worth doing or if he should walk away from it.

Thanks for your advise.

Give Numrich a call I have gotten two bolt from them for M-70 winchesters in the past. You used to be able to run accross them on E-bay before they went anti gun.

Why is the bolt missing? If he can't get a satisfactory answer and confirm it himself, I would not walk away from it- I would run!

Jim is right!!!!!!!!

Be very careful when buying a rifle with no bolt because
one of the reasons the bolt is missing is because a lot
of people remove the bolt and store them in a safety
deposit box to prevent theft.

Most rifle manufactures will not sell you a bolt unless you send
the rifle/action to them .

Be careful because if it seems to good to be true it probably is !!
