Gentlemen,
I'm new to the world of lathe owning and am considering buying a South Bend CL 145B from a fine gentlemen near where I live. Here's what I know so far about it.

13"X60"??? Flame Hardened centers (not sure if the gears are hardened)
1-3/8" spindle hole
3 JC
4 JC
2 face plates
tool holder
tapering tool
steady rest

What are you're thoughts on this lathe?
It'll be primarily used to thread and chamber barrels.
I'm looking at it again tomorrow and will probably make a decision as well.
Thank you in advance for any inputs.

:) I did. I swung by a few times to test it etc. Looked at other lathes, this one was a heck of a deal and its really smooth and well taken care of. It was the guys fathers who had sitting for the last 6 years and is just to old to work on it anymore. I will need to make a custom 4 jaw chuck and spider in order to turn 21-22 inch barrels, but thats the minimum I'll be able to do on this machine.
