Looking for 270WSM powder recommendations

I'm running close to 67.5 gr R-26 in a rem sa. Hornady brass at that load is a little iffy. Gun shoots like a dream but my pockets are getting a little loose. I dropped it back to 67.2 and still preformed well. CCI 250 primers. My backup is imr7977 and it's about 100 fps slower. R26 flat out works!! Good luck.

IMR 7828 SSC at, 65.7 grains, Rem Brass, F-215 Primer, COAL of, 2.860" produces, 3,185 FPS, with 140 gr. Berger, Classic Hunter Bullets, Sub 3/4 MOA
( 1/2 MOA on MY,.. "Good Days" ) Tikka 24" Barrel ( Mag length, COAL ) use a grain less with, a 140 AccuBond.
I have Killed Elk with, BOTH Bullets and the Berger "Hammers" them, DRT, much better ! E-mail Berger for Load Data. RL-26 is slightly faster but, IMR 7828 worked very well, for me ( in my 7 MM Mag, too ) and is probably,.. EASIER to get ! Work up, Load carefully, in YOUR Rifle !

Im about to start loading for a new 270 WSM (24in tube) that I got up till now this is the first .277 caliber ive ever loaded for.

I have a handful of different bullets that a buddy has given me to try out which includes 129lrx, 140 sierra sbt , 140 interlocks and 150 LR AB.

POWDERS I HAVE AVAILABLE-
R-26
R-23
H/I 4350
H4831SC
7828SSC

So if any 270wsm guys see this and would like to chim in on your experience with these powder combos Id appreciate it.
My old browning does well with 150g Nosler ballistic tips with 60g of IMR 4831 . I have IMR 4350 but was going to give that a try once the snow melts here .

I had good luck with IMR4350 in 270 WSM and 130gr bullets. Wouldn't hesitate using it or H4350, I've had good results with H4350 in other WSMs. Might try something a tad slower too. 4831, RL23, might even try something like H1000.

I shoot a Weatherby Ultralight ,in 270 Win with a 130 Grn Nosler Ballistic tips. I use . 59.5 grns of H 4831SC, in matched Winchester cases , with Win LR Primers , for 3050fps. ( about 150 /200 FPS slower than a Short mag ) ) That is my Number 1 Whitetail Rifle and my perfect Whitetail Load, and the rifle really likes it. I also shoot a Weatherby Mark V ,in 270 Weatherby Mag with a 150 Grn. Nosler Accubond Long Range Bullet. 67.0 grns of H 4831SC, with a Fed. 215 Mag Primer, for about 3000fps.( a ladder test to 3200fps will be forth coming ) So both my calibers are just slightly slower or maybe slightly faster than yours, and both Rifles happen to like H 4831SC. My Winchester Model 70 , in 270 win shoot better groups with IMR 4350. So speaking only for myself, These are my #1 and #2 powders. I am really pleased with the performance. At some point when powder is easy to purchase again, I will try Rel 25 and Rel 26 , just because the enemy of Very Good, is Better!! LOL

I used H4831 with 140 grain Berger HVLD's at about 3150, don't recall exactly. 26" barrel. Kirby Allen built the gun and it consistently shot sub half moa. Shooting 140 Accubonds with the same powder and the rifle still shot around half moa at about 3100. Never should have sold that one

H-4831, IMR 7828 and RL-26 are ALL, at or, near,.. Top Velocity, with "accuracy" Powder's for, the .270 WSM.
IMR 4350 WAS "Accurate" for me ( 59 to 60 Grains ) BUT at, LOWER Velocities as it's, Faster Burn Rate is NOT quite as good, in the .270 WSM.
4350 "Pressures" quicker, BEFORE the "Top" Velocity with accuracy, Hunting load Performance, can be reached ! ( aka, NO gain over, a .270 Win. )
IF wanting, 3,150 to 3,200 FPS in the WSM with 140's and "accuracy", you'll want to use one of the 3 Powders listed, on the top line.
There may be others that, I'm unaware of, tho ! IMR 4350 is what, I use, to "Plink" with and use it mainly, in my 6.5 Creed !

61.4 rl 25 works for me one hole groups

It wasn't the bullet or powder I wanted to shoot. I wanted to shoot heavy High BC Bergers and H4340 but couldn't make it work. Then I dug out some old Noslers I bought over 20 years ago and decided to try em. Wow IMR 4350 and the Nosler 130gr ballistic tip shoot really well in my Kimber… 1/2 MOA and the combo is excellent on WT, Mule deer, and hogs.
