Longest Kill Shot ?

420yd shot on a mule deer, we had 30 mph straight line wind with 40 mph gusts. We had tried numerous times to get close but he'd spook and move out. So we caught up again and took that 420 yard shot with the wind right to left.

We were prairie hunting in northwest Texas with small pockets of brush in low lying areas. After the shot he stumbled and moved into a pocket of that scrub brush, which he had worked through and we found him on the off side of the brush.

It was a clean shot, slightly off the mark but did the job. .270 Winchester, 130 Hornady SST hand loads pushing 3075fps.

Best wind call I'd ever made!

Simple question: What has been your longest kill shot on varmint or game animal?
Varmint at about 600-650 Meters as ranged by the Leatherwood scope, .308 Win.
Elk at about 425 long paces 7 mm Rem. Mag.
I do not count prairie dogs as on a good day we might lob 4-6000 rounds at them and we certainly do get some hits way out there! I mean really, really way out there. But not as many hits as misses! But it's all good fun in a good cause! We take 12-16 guns each, only use .22 iron sighted Semi-Auto pistols to about 100 yards with bragging rights for the longest kill. Scope sighted .22 LR semi-auto rifles out to 200 yards or so and a dozen or so center fire rifles with scope sights in calibers including, but not limited to; .223/5.56, 22-250, .220 Swift, .224 Clark Imp ( The ultimate Champion at PDs,, 6MM Rem, 7BR and .308s in XP-100s, .308/7.62 NATO in 6 different semi-auto guns, 7 mm Rem Mag and .300 RUM in stock Remington Sendaros at longer ranges!
