Looking for suggestions and options for a hard case for an 18 lb 52" rifle. Assume 56" inside dimensions would be required to transport safely?

Very pricey but here you go >>> Long Gun Cases, Rifle Cases, and Weapons Cases

Mine is just shy of 55" with MB and considering building my own for the same purpose.

Midway has a soft case (which I'm also considering) - MidwayUSA Sniper Drag Bag Scoped Rifle Case

I actually have that drag bag from Midway and have been happy with it so far as well. Pelican 1770 looks as though it would work great except on the pocketbook, albeit you do get great quality with them......

I bought one similar to the pelican for about half price from cabelas, I think, was on sale for around $200. It is actually pretty nice and the quality is good. Has two handles, multiple clamps and wheels. I put two guns in it with room to spare.
When you cut the foam find one of those old electric knives used to carve turkeys that no one uses.
