long range project

I would like to build a long range hunting rifle in 6.5-284. I am on a budget so benchrest accuracy is not needed. I would like to use a Savage action. Is there a donor action I can use? What would I have to do to make it 6.5-284 compatible? Can anyone get me started on the right track?

Savage makes a 6.5 x 284 norma but it is in there F- class gun. Look for a used gun with a short action and the right size bolt and rebarrel it.
