Long range hunting rifle caliber suggestions?

Hey guys,

Ive got an old tired 7mm rem mag that is a custom long range rig. It is going to need a new barrel soon and i was wondering if anyone here had some suggestions. But heres the kicker,, must be okay on deer too, somewhat light recoiling (less than 338 lapua magnum) and must fit the "feel" of the rifle, buy that i mean no ***** calibers .

Ill post the pic with this as im sure you have already seen. I would love something in the 338 range, but have considered calibers as low as .264. All suggestions must have a bolt face no larger than ultra magnum. I would like to have a .243 ackley improved, but sadly, it is only okay on elk to 700 yards and on deer to 1100. No oddball wildcats as i am getting it from E.R Shaw and have to choose from their calibers listed.

When all is said and done, the rifle will weigh in at 14 lbs.

none of those really gave me what i was looking for, so i just made another one. I changed the requirements of this one too. But yes, i know about them.

There is no need for any more replys. Ive decided on a completely different caliber that will be revealed when i get this project done. Thank you for all your suggestions, and most importantly, thank you for taking the time to write a response, it means alot.

I wanted to have my Rem 700 magnum action re-barreled to the .338 norma...had 4 different smiths that would not touch the project stating that there was not enough metal on the bolt face to make it safe enough for them to want to put their name on it. Have you found something different??

One, dont call me a douche, i doubt you even know what it is (assuming your a 12 year old). I just want to let you know that im looking through all my files, but i cant seem the find a **** to give. Learn respect.
