Long range 6mm hunting bullets

I ran the 103 eldx for one season out of my 6 dasher. Only shot one pronghorn at 300 yds and for me it was to fragile of a bullet. Switched over to the 105 Berger hunting. No on game results yet.

Well I had my first on game experience with the 109 berger yesterday on a big old muley at 350+ yards
Worked like a champ with a perfect broadside shot. Right behind the shoulder(couldn't even find the entrance until I caped him) with a golf ball sized exit right in the armpit. Blood everywhere!
Seams to work so far
Oh and I cleaned out the tips

Just got back from an Antelope hunt I used the 115 D-tac The shot was 765 on a doe Antelope. Tough hunt couldn't get any closer they were very spooky 1 shot and done I didn't account enough for spindrift it hit the doe in her front shoulder snd exited perfect on the other side. Almost no damage to the front shoulder just a pencil hole not very much damage on the exit either. I'm not super happy on the results this the bullet fly phenomenal but it's a target bullet. Either way the antelope didn't go very far and there was very little to no meat loss

Here are a few pics

The 6mm (.243) bullet has and will adequately anchor elk at very long ranges. I've seen it done and heard by dozens of others that have done it. Very long ranges like 800 yards. That's very long for a .243 with a 105 grain bullet IMO for big game. Personally I wouldn't do it as I have so many better rifle cartridges to pick from. For the guy or gal that doesn't have those options and knows there rifle and can make that shot and has made that shot in various conditions, I say, get after it. For the guns I use at LR, I have zero issues shooting that and further on an elk size animal (provided the conditions allow it). It's just not gonna be the .243 that I use.

5 antelope this weekend with the 109 Berger
They work perfectly. Expansion and devastation
Ive been thinking about letting my son use my 6 creed for deer this year. I shoot the 109 berger at 3100 fps so there should be no issues getting those to open up. I've shot a few woodchucks with them and even without opening up the tips they blew those woodchucks apart

Explosive tips ??? Interesting

No explosive tips...... maybe I should've used a different word than "blew" apart. In other words it really messed up their days haha
I guess I don't see how the bullet can't expand and yet the ground hog was destroyed. I've Shot many with 140 Amax bullets from a 6.5-284 at ranges beyond 800 yards and they performed beautifully. Pencil hole in, silver dollar exit or bigger.

I'm alittle confused on what your trying to say. I didn't say the bullets didn't expand because obviously they did. I was just saying that even though the tips on the 109 bergers are pointed (meaning a very, very small meplat) they still seemed to expand fine without out me opening them up or cleaning them out. The 3100 fps I'm sure helped that process. I'm also a big fan of the old 140 amax. Killed many deer and other small critters with it as well as the 140 Eld-m
