Load suggestions for Ruger Scout Rifle

Hello All, I just got a Ruger Scout Rifle (.308 Win) and I'm looking for suggestions for a white tail deer load for this short barreled beauty.
My hunting area is diverse, from heavy woods to 300 yard bean fields.
I'm partial to Hornady and Sierra but I just don't know what powder might be best considering the short barrel.

My old Remington 742 just loved 44gr. of 4064 under a 150gr. Sierra bullet. This isn't a max load. Hope you enjoy shooting your scout rifle.
