Hey all and happy 4th of July to my fellow LRH members! So, my neighbor has asked me to help him with his new Tikka build in 22 Creedmoor. I'm not sure how he and his step-son went about choosing their components, but here's what he dropped off to me (besides the rifle) in a basket yesterday:
1) Lapua small primer 6 Creed brass (I've already necked it down w/ Hornady 22 Creed dies)
2) Federal small rifle primers
3) H4350
4) Berger 77gr OTM tactical bullets

Just need some advice on a good starting point with the charge amount as there's not a great deal of info out there on this little gem yet. Gonna do the typical ladder testing over a Magnetospeed looking for flat spots/nodes to load up and test for groups, Berger seating depth test, etc, etc. Thanks folks and stay safe!
-Chris

I am running 43.3 gr rl26 with the Berger 85.5 hybrid long range. 3300fps. I use alpha SRP 22 creed brass with fed 205m. I havnt tried h4350 yet in the 22. But use it in the 6 and 6.5

Sweet! I've got RL 26, but I'm not sparing ANY of it for anything other than my .300 Win Mag! So, I'm gonna have to get something going w/ what they provided.

I found two loads for 80gr bullets using h4350, 39.6gr and 40gr they were getting 3230 and 3288 fps. You can also look for information on the 22-250ai as it is only .1 gr less in case capacity than the Creedmoor, many people have used 220 swift info for a starting point for the 22-250ai also. I would probably start at 36.0 and work up if you can't find anything else.

NOW we're talkin! Thank you, brother......just what I was looking for. ;)

This was with alpha lrp brass. I settled on 40.7

I think your just right on your starting point at around 40.0 gr
While I only played with H-4350 a short time it shot great and maxed in my rifle at 41.8 with 80 gr AMax...... this was prior to the new Hornady ELD's as I have been loading 22 Creedmoor since 2014
Not many suitable powders I have not tried... Reloder 26/4000MR/ Reloder 23/ N 550/ 6.5 StaBall all will perform well.

Sounds good. Thanks for your input on this, brother! This rifle wears a carbon-fiber barrel (unknown origin to me) and is only 19" long and .932 at the muzzle. I'm quite sure my neighbor lost some velocity when he had his Smith hack the barrel down to that length. BUT, we'll soon see what she says... ;)

With 19 inch barrel 77 gr should max out 3150-3200ish
I have burned a 24 and halfway thru a 21in and my third is a 26in.
There is lots of data scattered around the interweb but take the info with some caution as almost all is not pressure tested and some have and I include myself in that group have pushed well beyond accepted pressures that are considered norm.
Ex: load I used for three years with no issues except short brass life tested out at above70,000PSI......

If you have or can find 7828SSC, it works very well in my 22-250AI's using the 80's, and it gave me more speed than H4350, 4831 and a couple of others. Otherwise as others have noted, the 22/250AI load data works great for the 22CM. As always, start 5-10% below and work up. YMMV
