Wondering if anyone has any load data for this bullet caliber combo or maybe 6.5 Credemore. Barnes doesn't show this bullet in their 260 load data. Probably be great for PRC but can't find brass.

I have two 260s. A Ruger Precision with 28.5" Bartlein Hvy Palma 1:8". And a stole Panda 30" Hvy Palma 1:8". Both were throated for 140 Bergers Hybrid Match. Shoot SMKs and Scenars 139-142grain bullets also in a pinch. Both have identical chambers and shoot same loads. 43.6 grn H4350. Panda 1/8 moa all day. Ruger 1/4 Moa pretty dependably. Ruger 2925fps. Panda 2953fps.

I have lots of primers and a couple lbs of each of these powders, WLR, CCI 200s, Fed match, Rem LR primers, 950 145-Burners : R19, H4350, R22, H4831, H4831 sc, R17, H1000, N170, Benchmark. I use the 4350 for other guns. Hoping to find something else for these 145s.

Any real world 260 Rem load/Jump/fps data would be greatly appreciated. Would also make any reasonable trade for these 145s for 140 match bullets.
thanks

I've got a load ready with 4831sc in 6.5 creedmoor. I was able to get 2750 with a 147 eld with 45.5 compressed in Norma brass. I've since went to starline brass and I got was only able to get 44.5 in the case. I'm hoping for 2700 FPS. I should have some data this week.

Thats great I have 5-8 lbs of 4831. Thanks. Needed a place to start. I hve all Lapua and Nosler brass; so think capacity will be fine.
.

just loaded up 24 with R19.
I'll load some with H4831 too.

There was a typo I fixed in the last response.!!
I worked up from 40 grains to 44.5. NOT 48.5!

I got out today to get some baseline pressure readings and velocity. I was able to get up to 45.5 grains after fireforming the new brass.
6.5 creedmoor
145 grain Barnes
H4831SC
I loaded to mag length and stuffed them. I loaded three each just to get some data.
45.0 grains
Had a velocity of
2719
2716
2719fps

45.5 grains had
2734
2749
2757fps
Neither had any signs whatsoever of maxing out on pressure. The pic of the cases is from the 45.5 grain load. I'm definitely out of room in the case, but I can live with anything over 2700 FPS so we're good there. I'm going to start at 45.0 and play with seating and charge weight. I'm confident I will have a half inch load with very good ES somewhere between 45-45.5. This is just a small sample and ES shouldn't be determined with three shots, but I've done this long enough to know I got some very good numbers to start with.

Wow. I'm was in the shop all day. Hoping to load later. I'm guessing the 260 is close enough I can use these numbers as a base. I'm hoping to go to the range tomorrow.

any idea what the jump is or your neck tension.
I'm using Redding Comp dies. Probably .004/.004 tension. Generally this gives me low spreads and vert tight groups.

Not yet, I basically threw them into new brass at mag length and shot them, I'll mess with measurements now that I have some fired brass to play with. I'll probably just seat 3 thou deeper at a time to see if I can tighten up that group at 45 grains, then I might bump charges up in .2 grain increments to 45.5, all depends on ES during seating testing. Once my chrony numbers and groups are where I want them, I'll make a dummy round, then I'll have my measurements.
The groups were fired with the magneto hanging on the barrel.

This load mirrored my 147 eld load just a little slower. I honestly think it's because of the brass. So, if you have some 147 data I would use it.

I'm using a Labradar. Loaded up some with H4831sc. .020 jump. Seems to be good jump. I might need shorter barrel to burn 4831 have full burn at 27". Might have to go to slower powder in 30" barrel. I'm probably going to try H1000. H3450 is perfect with the 140 bergers.
Will shoot them tomorrow with some R19 loads
I have a bunch of oem powder single ball. Supposed to be 4831 clone but bit bulkier. Below is that powder with 140 smk.
I'll post results tomorrow.

If you can't get them to work, I might do some trading, I have a box of 500 140 grain match burners. They are supposed to be very accurate, I haven't tried them yet, they get great reviews though.

A trade would be great. I'll know better tomorrow. i know the PRC OR 6.5SAUM Would love these 145s. Unfortunately I cannot get brass for them. Can get most everything else but those.

I'm in a different boat than you. Lol
I have plenty of 4831 for the heavier 145-147 grain bullets in 6.5 creedmoor, but am limited in good powder for the 140 grain bullets.
