I have however, had issues with keeping picatinny rails mounted on heavier recoiling hunting weight rifles. With the weight of some of today's top optics, the problem can be compounded. That led me to the idea of using the recoil lug for a dual purpose. Myself and a shooting buddy, who is also a great gunsmith came up with the system linked to below.
