Remington Model 721
Weatherby Vanguard Series II
Both chambered in .270
Neither are fancy, but they sure are fun to shoot!
I have a 721 in .270 as well - it's a '48. Mine wears a vintage Bushnell 4x ScopeChief II CP amd hits lights-out every pre-season sight-in. It was my dad's deer rifle since the 60s and has many PA and VA white tails to its credit. Nothing fancy, but a time capsule and heirloom treasure for sure.

Oh... that Rem mod 721 is a great little rifle, old school... as is the mod 722, I've had a few over the years and they made great actions for custom builds, and just a fine rifle all the way around, in your case, the Mod 721 in .270 Win is a classic plus it belonged to your father... nice. Also, nice 7mm Rem Mag Deer popper. Cheers.
Put a pic up of the Rem 721

took three rifles out for pre season check, a ruger #3 in 45-70, a 700 rem CDL in 35 whelen and a kimber hunter in 3006, i shot at small rocks and hit most of the them from 100-300 yards. on some rocks i needed 2-3 shots to make hits with the 45-70 due to the bullet drop.

6.5 saum built by myself, bighorn origin, Mesa stock, 26" proof and 6-24 pst. 8.4lbs ready to hunt. Shoots 1/4 moa with 156 bergers day in and day out.
It's twin big brother. A 300 win all the same specs. I haven't worked up a load for it yet but have no doubt it'll be a shooter as well. 8.5lbs as it sits

I've always liked the 6.5 RSAUM I had friends who shot them in LR matches it's a great LR cartridge. I used its big brother .300 RSAUM for RL and it was amazing, but... I think I see the appeal of the 6.5 RSAUM on my end is due to my time shooting Remington 6.5 Rem Mag... to this day an outstanding cartridge. I bought one for the first runs of Remnigntons Model 700s in 6.5 Rem Mag, darn I'm sorry that I sold that rifle amazingly accurate for an out-of-the-box Remmy. Cheers!

This is my first custom and first year shooting long range! Love it!
Built a 6.5 prc on a Bighorn Origin, Carbon 6 barrel, Triggertech Diamond, Grayboe Phoenix, EC tuner brake.
She's a shooter! Took this loper doe at 750 just above the heart a couple weeks ago!
I'm excited for deer hunting with it!
