What bullet and powder load for your warbird ? Is it a 12 twist or 10 ? I am on my second barrell and thinking about going with a proof as I am chasing the lands now . Do you know what barrell they use as the doner?

I love these threads!

On my 721, 270, the head of the brass was hitting the edge of the extractor, near the ejector, and causing the cartridge to stop short of going into battery. My temporary fix is to taper the head of the brass quite a bit to push the extractor "spring leg" back into its slot in the bolt head. There is a tiny taper on the brass case head, I just made the taper much more pronounced. Did 20 rounds, all load and extract, so I will shoot them, and, reload them specifically for this 721.
Mine just doesn't consistently extract.

1982(IIRC) Browning BAR 3006, also hunt with a 2001 mkII safari 3006 I like almost as much, but the 82 is the softest shooting rifle I've ever touched. I have a personal idea that the gas port may be sized slightly off, or perhaps it was just a perfection of tolerances on the day it was built. The newer safari is no slouch either, and is the only rifle I've ever shot a whitetail hat trick with, what a night of cleaning.

OK, we need to see some love for slug guns here too. 870 with Hastings bull barrel, Timney 2 1/2 lb trigger job, 1 1/4 oz SPW handloaded slugs at 1450 fps that print through darn near same hole at 100 yards. Bucks just crumple when hit with this slug and has exceptional accuracy. This is a 100 yard target with the SPW slug after I swapped out scopes. The first shot was high and right, I over compensated to right by going wrong dang way with scope in brain cramp and then over compensated to the left. The correction to center resulted in 3 rounds in almost same hole at 100 yards. The reason I am showing this target is to show the consistency of the load. I can actually walk a load into the bull even at 100 yards with scope adjustment which is normally tough to do with a slug due to inconsistency that can be with them. This buck is from this year and was shot at about 55 yards and you know he is done when they run "downhill" into the ground in 25 yards or so.

This 870 is really my go to in heavy tight cover since whatever it hits is likely to not go far!;)

Here's mine. It's an old Tikka M65, also sold as Tikka LSA65 and Ithaca LSA65, about the same age than I am, in .30-06. I bought it used but practically it probably had been sitting in the safe for 25 years; it came with a hunting type stock, but I replaced the stock with an original M65 sporter stock which is bedded with steel pillars and epoxy. I made a cheek rest of Kydex and attached it with velcro. The barrel is original, a thin one, shortened to about 21 inches and there's a Jaki suppressor. There's a Zeiss Classic Diavari 3-12x56 on the top, and optilocks to keep it there.

It's a bit of an ugly duckling to be honest, but gets the job done and with handloads it's actually pretty accurate. There's three shots at 100 meters with 168gr TTSX last autumn when I wanted to check the zero is OK. As always, me and the rifle are not always that accurate, but that's not extraordinary and usually 5 shots can be covered with a coin at 100 meters. But don't we all mainly post the best groups and forget about the others :p

That is an awesome rifle, just read the history of that model built by Tikkakoski right before they were bought by Sako and close to when my A11 was produced, pretty cool to see two quality Finnish rifles still in use.
