I wanted to use the Baro reading from my 1600 to enter into a ballistics program. But it shows 14.14 ? I checked the local weather and it is 29.97. My rangefinder is set to US . Am I missing something?

Leica missed the boat on that one and put it in psia. Here is the ref chart I use. Your 14.14 should be about 500 ft. The new 1600-B corrected this but messed up by putting 1/4 moa "clicks" such as "C 64" instead of 16 MOA.

Thank you!!!
Why would they do that? Or is that a measurement they use in other countries?
Thanks for posting that chart.

I've got a 1600crf.. thought I'd ask you guys that also have them whether or not the shown distance IS actually a corrected distance, considering angle?? Does anyone know or have tested that in the field by chance? Is quite important to know actually... especially given mountain situations for sheep & such

I was told it is.. but don't seem to see it in the manual (unless I completely missed) Anyways, don't mean to steal the thread at all... just figured I'd ask, is somewhat related..

Thanks

If I use the info from the 1600 I just double the psi reading to give close enough baro readings .Useing presure as asoloute i dont worry about altitude at all.

That makes it simple, Thanks!
Rooster, Im not sure. Maybe someone else knows the answer to that one. I dont have too many mountains where I live. :)

Atmospheric Pressure Conversion Factor from psia to inches of Hg is 2.036

psia x (2.036) = Inches Hg
