Leica 1200 optics problems

I just traded up from a Leica 800 (4 yrs old) to a new Leica 1200 scan. It certainly ranges better, but the optics are not nearly as good as my old 800 model. I can focus the eyepiece no problems to get a sharp image but the view is not as clear as my 800 and a little fuzzy around the edges. Its livable as its only a rangefinder but has anyone else had this experience?

I use a Leica 1200 as well and have not noticed any problems with the optics but i don't have an 800 to compare.

Have you contacted Leica for an explanation ?

I've had both and can't tell a difference optically. Send those 1200's back, they sound screwed up.

I have never looked through an 800, but my 1200 doesn't have the problems you have described, must be a problem.
